Synopsis:
Qamishli, 2004. Mesto, 17, has only one dream: to play football for his local club. But in Assadʼs Syria, being Kurdish is already a crime. When the clubʼs coach finally lets him play in a match against a Syrian team, he scores a goal and unwittingly sparks a bloody crackdown on the ensuing riot. Against his will, Mesto becomes a symbol of the Kurdish struggle against the Syrian regime.

"The Dream Betrayed Me," produced by Camille Laemlé, within the company Les Film d’Ici in co-production with the Iota Proudction in Belguim and Mitos Films in Germany.
